Registration Renewals – INSTANT

Stop in with the state renewal form completed and signed and we'll renew instantly by printing a registration card & issuing a sticker.

Or, stop in with your insurance card and a valid PA drivers license or state ID (note: only current owner can renew with this method) and we'll renew for you within minutes and print a new registration card and provide the sticker.

Duplicate Registration Card/Sticker – INSTANT

To replace a lost or stolen registration card or renewal sticker, only a valid PA drivers license or state ID is required along with basic vehicle information (ie. VIN number, PA tag number, etc). Only current owner may obtain registration materials.

If you renewed directly with the state and never received your renewed materials, you may stop in and we'll take care of the replacement on the spot. If it's within 90 days from when you renewed, just our service fee applies (no state fee).

If you need to replace a vehicle title, please bring in a valid PA drivers license and any basic vehicle information (ie. VIN or tag #). If more than one owner is listed, both must be present to apply for the duplicate title.

We can not replace a plate for permanent trailers, antique, classic or apportion tags instantly. Paperwork to accomplish replacing those specific tags will be sent to PennDOT.

Replacement of License Plate – INSTANT

At Brimmer's, we have the ability to issue replacement plates on the spot.

We can not replace a plate for permanent trailers, antique, classic or apportion tags instantly. Paperwork to accomplish replacing those specific tags will be sent to PennDOT.

Registration Restoration

Come to Brimmer's with your valid PA drivers license or state ID along with a valid insurance card or declaration page for the vehicle being restored.

If there was an insurance lapse of less than 30 days, we'll assist you in getting proof to PennDOT.

If there was an insurance lapse of more than 30 days and you've been notified of suspension, we'll assist you in restoring your registration after your suspension has been served.

Registration Name Change

If you desire to change your name due to marriage and intend to use your spouse's surname please bring your current PA Driver License or current PA State ID along with your Marriage Certificate and Vehicle Registration Card or Title.

If you desire to change your name due to divorce please bring your current PA Driver's License or Current PA State ID, your Vehicle Registration Card or Title and a Certified copy of the Court Order to Re-take your last name. To obtain this document please contact your local County Court House where you filed for divorce.

If you desire to use another name (ie, using your maiden name as your middle name) you must provide your current PA Driver's License or current PA state ID, Vehicle Registration Card or Title and your Social Security Card along with two other sources issued in the desired name such as: Tax Records, Selective Service Card, Voter Registration Card, Passport, any form of Photo ID issued by a governmental agency, or banking records. All of these examples must reflect the new name exactly as you would want it issued.

If your name changed by permission of court you must provide a Certified Copy of the Court Order and your current PA Driver's License or current PA State ID and Vehicle Registration Card or Title. (ie; becoming a US Citizen, Adoption)

  • When changing the Vehicle Title you will automatically receive a corrected Registration Card reflecting the new name.
  • Note - all above paperwork will be submitted to PennDot via Messenger and take approximately 7-10 days for processing. State and Service Fees will apply.
Address Changes – FREE

FREE address changes on the spot. Please bring your valid PA drivers license or state ID along with basic vehicle information (ie. title, VIN or tag #).

Issuance of Special Fund Plates

Special Fund Plates available: DARE, Otter, Tiger, Train

Motorcycles and persons with disabilities are not eligible for Special Fund Plates. Special Fund Plates are not able to be personalized. Please see attached for descriptions.

Please bring a valid PA drivers license or state ID along with a valid insurance ID card specifically for that vehicle.

Personalized Plates

Bring a valid PA drivers license or state ID to apply for a personalized plate. There is a one time fee for the plate (followed by a yearly registration renewal like normal). We do not have the capability to check for what is available. The application allows for up to three choices.

The turnaround time to receive your personalized plate is 4-6 weeks.

Boat, ATV & Snowmobile Registrations

We'll need your registration card (current/prior) or title number, along with a valid PA drivers license or Photo ID. Boat, ATV & snowmobile registrations renew for a period of two years each.

Boat Renewal – Please bring your Hull ID or PA registration number along with a valid PA drivers license or Photo ID. We will need to know how many gallons of fuel you used in the prior period. Registration fees are based on the length of the boat. We will issue a new registration card & sticker instantly at our Harrisburg Pike office. In our other offices, we'll issue a temporary and the new registration card and sticker will be mailed to you within the week.

ATV & Snowmobile Registrations – Please bring your registration, title or license plate number and a valid PA drivers license or Photo ID. Upon renewal, you'll receive a new registration sticker instantly.

Antique & Classic Vehicle Registrations

Antique and classic registration plates are permanent and are issued for the life of the vehicle while it is owned by the present owner. You will need four color photographs (front, back & both sides) of the vehicle with the windows up. In addition, you will need to bring the title for the vehicle along with a valid PA drivers license or Photo ID, along with proof of insurance on the
specific vehicle.

Antique Motor Vehicle – A motor vehicle, but not a reproduction thereof, manufactured more than 25 years prior to the current year which has been maintained in or restored to a condition which is substantially in conformance with manufacturer specifications. This type of registration is not for general daily use.

Classic Motor Vehicle – A motor vehicle, but not a reproduction thereof, manufactured at least 15 years prior to the current year which has been maintained in or restored to a condition which is substantially in conformity with manufacturer specifications and appearance.

Apportion Registrations

We are able to handle new accounts, add additional trucks to current accounts, add new jurisdictions, and replace credentials. Apportion registration is from June 1st to May 31st.

For a new account, three documents proving residency must be provided and all documents must show the same name and address as the apportioned application. Unless it's a corporation, one of the three documents needs to be a valid PA drivers license.

Apportion Renewals

We are able to issue a TA (temporary authority) with a 'clean' invoice. If the invoice has any other requirements other than money, we cannot issue a TA on the spot; however, we'll process paperwork and send through our messenger service to PennDOT with an average 7-10 day turnaround time.

IFTA/Non-IFTA Stickers

These stickers are required for commercial trucks weighing over 26,000 pounds.

IFTA – Interstate
Non-IFTA – Intrastate

When applying to etablish a new IFTA or Non-IFTA account, at the time of application, you must furnish two forms of ID and proof of physical address (no PO box numbers). This ID includes a current and valid photo drivers license and a secondary document that confirms the physical address of the applicant and/or business. This document can be a property tax bill, vehicle registration, insurance card, utility bill or similar document that confirms the physical address of the applicant/business. Photo IDs are the only proof of identification and physical address necessary when renewing already established accounts in good standing.

Handicap Placard/Plate

Types of placard applications are: permanent, temporary, severely disabled veteran placard, renewal, replacement, change of name and/or address. Permanent placards need renewed every five years. Temporary placards are good for no more than six months.

Applicant Eligibility Requirements for a placard include:

Applicant is:

  • Blind
  • Does not have full use of an arm or both legs
  • Cannot walk 200 ft without stopping to rest
  • Cannot walk without the use of, or assistance from, a brace, cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic devise, wheelchair or other assistive device
  • Is restricted by lung disease to such an extent that the person's forced (respiratory) expiratory volume for one second, when measured by spirometry, is less than one liter or the arterial oxygen tensions is less than 60 MM/HG or room air at rest
  • Uses portable oxygen
  • Has a cardiac condition to the extent that the person's functional limitations are classifieds in severity as Class III or Class IV according to the standards set by the America Heart Association
  • Is severely limited in his or her ability to walk due to an arthritic, neurological or orthopedic condition
  • Is a person in loco parentis of a person specified above

After having your doctor complete the form, please bring in to our office with your valid PA drivers license or Photo ID and we can notarize the form and send using our messenger service. The placard will be sent back to our office within 7-10 days.

Disability or Hearing Impaired Registration Plate or Person with a Disability Motorcycle Plate
Eligibility Requirements are the same as those for a placard application (see above).

For a hearing impaired plate, any person with a hearing impairment verified by a licensed health care provider is eligible.
